Back to where it all began

We made it through Edinburgh, received our first review and now we are taking ‘Recalculating’ back to where the idea began.

BOMBSYTEtheatre was born during the second year of the Theatre and Professional Practice course at University of Bedfordshire.

We have been given the opportunity to take the show back to the theatre at University of Bedfordshire and also Luton Carnival Arts Centre in order to perform ‘Recalculating’ for new students and the public. We are very much looking forward to being able to share our Edinburgh experience with the audience and will be having a question and answer session after the show!

Fringe Fever!

BOMBSYTEtheatre is in Edinburgh!!

 

We are about to prepare for show number 9 and we are having an amazing time so far! Our audience seem to be having a great time watching the show and we are having a great time performing!

We are completely overwhelmed by the feedback from our audience!

We have been documenting throughout the show and as promised we will post some of the pictures.

Bedfringe down Edfringe to go!

So it’s been a very busy couple of weeks for us. We have just finished three performances of ‘Recalculating’ at the Bedford Fringe Festival. It was great to be able to give the show new life to a new audience, but it didn’t happen without a lot of hard work beforehand! We firstly had to cut half an hour off the show to make it fringe ready. We are extremely grateful for everyone who came and supported us and we received some great feedback!

Our next stop in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. After months of organising the week has finally arrived that we will be once again packing the tiny Peugeot and this time with the added assistance of a van and making our way up to Edinburgh! Extremely excited to get there, but not so much looking forward to the packing part, it’s going to be a busy week!

BOMBSYTEtheatre has graduated!!

Five People, Six Cases, One Tiny Peugeot.

On May 1st we had our premier at the University of Bedfordshire, it was a great success and one audience member was heard saying they would choose ‘Recalculating’ over the cinema any day! Theatre 1- Cinema- 0

We are now getting ready for our next performances-

First up, Bed Fringe, 23rd, 25th and 30th July are your next chances to see ‘Recalculating! Please check out our page ‘Upcoming Events’ to find out about tickets. We are keeping the performance close to home until we make the journey up North to perform 15 shows in Edinburgh.

We are just a couple of months away from performing ‘Recalculating’ at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

We had a very exciting delivery in the post this week, the Edinburgh Fringe Programme!!! On page 314 you will find BOMBSYTEtheatre’s advert!

This is an extremely exciting and busy time for BOMBSYTE and we just want take this opportunity for everyone’s support so far! Without an audience there cannot be a show!

All Roads Lead to Edinburgh

BOMBSYTEtheatre are extremely happy and excited that our plan of making it to Edinburgh has become a reality!!

The contract has been signed, so there’s no going back now!

We will be performing  our premier show ‘Recalculating’ from the 12th-26th August 2013 at the lovely little venue spotlites@ the Merchant Hall.

We are getting prepared to promote, flyer, perform, promote, flyer, perform not expect much sleep and be surrounded by some amazing theatre!

What better way to start as a new theatre company than to perform at the Edinburgh fringe… Can’t Wait!!

Recalculating

Have you ever been in a car?? . . Then ‘Recalculating’ is the show for you!

BOMBSYTEtheatre took to the road and came back with ‘Recalculating’. John O’Groats to Lands’ End, Five people, six cases, one Peugeot, 2012 miles, 7 days, 7 destinations, Flat Tyres, Fast Food and Toilet traumas! Wouldn’t change a thing! BOOM!

Fasten your seatbelts as we bring the people we met and places we saw to you. Come journey with us through the highs and lows as we go from end to end of Great Britain.

Taking the Throne

Some of you may have seen our photo gallery and wondered why on Earth is there a toilet in our pictures?

Well, unfortunatley for us, we don’t make things easy for ourselves!

One of the things we pride ourselves on is our props, and well, the toilet is just one to add to the collection!

We have always said as a theatre company we will not lie to our audiences, so as well as showing you the highlights of our trip, you also get to see one of the very low points. Which in this case, involves a toilet! We have been searching for a while now for an alternative prop or a place where we could find a cheap toilet, but luck was in our favour and we found one right on our doorstep….literally!

  The tricky part was getting it to the University theatre. So as we do with most things, we brought it in the tiny Peugeot. Strapped it in and off we went! However I’m not sure the university are used to seeing people carrying a toilet through campus! Good job its for a show or we would never be able to explain it.

Photo Shoot Take 1!

Ok . . today was our first proper photo shoot and doing it has taught us some things!

Firstly, as usual we had loads of fun doing the photo shoot!

However what this photo shoot did teach us is that is to recreate something had happened in the summer in the winter is very cold!!!

And a toilet is very heavy! Thank goodness we  have some muscles in our theatre company! Cheers lads!!!

Saturday 9th February- Shaw Theatre, NW1

The main aim for BOMBSYTEtheatre this year is to make it to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. We are extremely passionate and believe ‘Recalculating’ is a refreshing and unique piece of theatre. We want as many people to see it as possible, so what better way to do so than bring it to the Ed Fringe.

We are currently in the research stage so the Edinburgh Fringe Roadshow was the perfect opportunity to find out more details, meet and learn about various venues. Our next step is to raise the funds to make BOMBSYTEtheatre’s dream a reality.

We believe Edinburgh is something every theatre company should experience. So flyers at the ready, see you in August we hope!
